Licensing for IBM WebSphere Portal

IBM Portal is based on User or Server based pricing for both Portal Express and Portal Server. Only server based pricing is available for Portal Extend or Portal Enable

License Costs

The prices below are for license only, for customers on IBM Passport Agreements and are illustrative. A quote for your organisation would be required and is dependant on your IBM banding.

  • User License - Express (20) £1,623.00
  • Server License - Express £28,200.00
  • User License - Portal Server (20) £1,822.00
  • Server License - Portal Server £36,300.00
  • Server License - Portal Enable £64,400
  • Server License - Portal Extend £94,500.00
  • All prices exclude VAT

Example configuration - 400 users Portal Server

  • User licenses 20 x £1,623.00 - £32,460.00
  • or
  • Portal Server license - £36,300.00
  • The two license costs are similar. It would be more cost effective in the long run to purchase the server license if growth was expected to exceed 450 users, at which point the server license becomes more cost effective.
